Christina recently performed at Beatles
Fest West in San Francisco
and the reviews speak for themselves:
Jude Kessler of www.Beatlesnews.com
wrote:
But the surprise gem of the day was 17-year-old Christina
Trillo whose bluesy, gutsy, cutting-edge rendition of Beatles
and Lennon standards gives them a 2000's twist. Trillo, a real
estate assistant who grew up "being forced to listen to The
Beatles," is now a voluntary fan, in her own right, and her
performances at BeatlesFestWest proved that she is gifted
student of their genre. Backed by Rick Olson (who also arranged
her songs), Trillo gave the San Fran crowd a soulful rendition
of "Real Love" and a gut-wrenching performance of "I'm Losin'
You'." But when asked what her favorite Beatles tune is, she
replied, "A Day in the Life," because it "shows both John
Lennon's style and Paul McCartney's style." Unlike me, she
doesn't take sides.
Trillo has "been singing since she could talk" and although she
could clearly model as well, her heart is in singing. She has
been receiving professional voice training for ten years...and
it shows. Her Beatles songs are lovely and unique.
Steve Marinucci from www.Examiner.com wrote:
Another performer who was getting great word of mouth -- and
with good reason -- was Christina Trillo. Her first CD,
"Something For No One," was being sold at the Fest. Her voice is
tremendous -- and she'll be 18 Oct. 20. Trillo hails from Orange
County, CA., and has been singing professionally since she was
8. Her amazing CD includes versions of "I'm Losing You,"
"Something," "For No One" and an absolutely wonderful version of
"She's Leaving Home." Here's
her MySpace page.
