Bailing Haye?

Amidst reports that a “collision” between WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KOs) against WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s) is on the verge of being “wrapped up by Sunday”, a source we can only deem as very close to the negotiations told that announcing a September match up between the two champions being days from being “wrapped up” is at best ”premature.”
Don’t Bet Against Marga”Beato”

A few weeks before the return of Antonio Margarito I began to get numerous phone calls asking me what I thought of Margarito’s foe, Robert Garcia’s. chances. Before I could put in my two cents the interested party would answer his or her question by saying Garcia is looking good, he is kicking the crap out of Alfredo Angulo in sparring, (yeah right), and the odds that had Garcia an 8 to 1 underdog were looking pretty good.
Not having complete knowledge of Garcia, nor having been privy to the sparring beat down’s Garcia was handing to Angulo, (again I chuckle), the only advice I could give was that I wouldn’t want to be the first guy to fight Tony after his still debated suspension. I mean if ever there was a time that Margarito would want to prove his point, this was it. I said I am not in the business of telling you how to bet your money, but my feeling was Garcia had little or no chance.
As we know Tony put Garcia down in round one and then beat the hapless Garcia for the next 9 rounds leaving Garcia little else to do than to foul Margarito twice in the fight and get points deducted on each occasion.
One scorecard had Tony winning the fight 100-88…worse than a shutout!!
I wonder what the odds on that happening were?
Canelo’s So Good…
He Ranks A Division Above His Fighting Weight
Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’s victory against Jose Miguel Cotto was so impressive that “The Bible of Boxing”, The Ring , ranked him #10 in a weight division he has never competed in. That’s right boxing fans, “Canelo” who has made his mark in the Welterweight division is suddenly the 10th best Jr. Middle in the World…according to The Ring.
I have some research for you to do today. First, find out who promotes Alvarez. After you do that find out who owns ”The Ring”
Speaking Of Rankings
How Is Lucian Bute Not In Anyones Top 10?
Curious how names like Shane Mosley, Pongsaklek Wonjongkam & Celestino Caballero can get on “The Bible’s” top 10 Pound4Pound list but Lucian Bute, the undefeated Super Middleweight Champ who has the full attention of the suits at HBO can’t get a sniff. I would think that considering how the network is doing backflips to get Bute’s attention that by now he would at least get an honorable mention.
P.S. If Bernard Hopkins couldn’t beat that white guy Joe Calzaghe, who was at the end of his career when he beat B-Hop, what makes anyone think he has a chance with an in his prime Lucian Bute who is a quicker on his feet, faster with his hands and has 3 times the power that Calzaghe ever had?
I really believe that Hopkins has a better chance with David Haye than he does with Bute…REALLY!

The Ring ratings are a joke. They consistently rank people who shouldn’t be ranked, and fail to rank those who deserve to be. As for Canelo, it would appear GBP, in its infinite wisdom, plans to move him up to Junior Middie. As for Hopkins, he is promoted by GBP. Enough said. I’m glad someone called it like it is with their ridiculous ratings. Good job Punchingbilly.

I ask you to amend your vow. I suggest you read about those fighters when the headlines are:

    Mayweather vs. Pacquiao SIGNED

    Haye vs. Klitschko DONE

My guess is you still won’t be reading about those fighters anytime soon…if at all.
