It's been just over 2 weeks since Marco Antonio Barrera (59-4, 41 KO's) defeated Eric Morales in the 3rd installment of there now legendry trilogy of fights! Since that time Marco has been from one end of one country, to the other side of another, speaking about his great victory. He has not been in hiding, as he suggested the fighter he beat, Morales, just might be after his humiliating defeat! As is always the case, Barrera was polite and soft spoken, but at the same time he was very confident and proud of his career defining fight.

And likewise, we here at Boxing2004 are proud to have been given the chance to speak with Marco! Let's see what he has to say.......................

Congrats' on your great win against Morales, You seemed very dominant throughout most of that match, do you question the 114-114 score that was on one of the judges scorecards?
More than anything the people and the fans have shown me great support and they all told me how they scored the fight, and I don't want to criticize that judge, but I am happy to know the way the fans saw it!

What was your main problem with the gloves, and how did it affect you during the fight?
Winning Brand are great gloves, and I use them all the time in training but I use an oversized glove during training, I have a big hand and it just does not fit well in the 8 ounce glove, but I don't want to make excuses, we adjusted and the glove worked out just fine!

After the fight, Morales told reporters that you were hitting him behind the head and fouling, that you had to cheat your way to the win, how do you respond to those comments?
I don't like excuses, and he fouled often, in the 12th round you can clearly see he was holding my head down, but never once have I complained, the most important thing is the people and the fans around the World saw the fight, and with their eyes they saw what happened!

And before the fight, Morales basically said that you don't even belong in the same ring with him and the only reason he was fighting you again was because the media wanted to see it one more time. Do you think he has changed his way of thinking now?
I fought in a way he never expected, and I think he has changed his mind now!

Was that really "Once and For All?" Do you think we may see you guys facing each other in the ring again sometime?
Yes, that is one of the reasons we took this fight at 130, I believe we showed the people that this was truly, Once And For All!

Pacquiao and Marquez are fighting for their titles in late February, who do you think is going to win that fight?
As a Mexican, I will be cheering for Marquez, knowing what a great Mexican fighter that he is!

Lastly, after the fight during your interview Oscar entered the ring, and you called him your boss. But Oscar corrected you and said, No, Marco is my
boss. How nice is it to be with a promoter who feels that is he, who is working for you, instead of the other way around?
More than having a promoter, with Oscar I have a friend. We are very happy to have signed with him, a little late in our career, but it's better late than never! We are very happy to be working with such a close friend and a promoter like Oscar!
