Slick Willie Stewart Clears Up Rumors! By Will "The Thrill" Trillo I was contacted by Slick Willie Stewart recently because he said he needed to clear up some rumors that were floating around out there! After being knocked out of the ring by Librado Andrade, tales were being told that Willie was maimed, according to Stewart some rumors even had him as dead! Willie wanted to assure everyone that he is alive and well, and will make his comeback in 2005! Just a few days after our chat, Willie sent us this email;

Hey William how's everything going? 

Im attaching a pic with this email. Everyone need to know Andrade doesn't want a rematch with Slick Willie! He was in better condition than I the first fight. That was his only advantage. He lost at least 9 of the 12 rounds luckily for him it wasn't a 10 round fight, he would have lost!! And with that jacked up boxing commission he got away with a lot of dirty tactics. Had that fight been in NV or CA he would have surely been disqualified!!! 

He can run but he cant hide!!

Let him know im coming for him!!!!!! 

 

Willie, I will be chatting with Librado this week as he will be fighting on this Thursday night's HBO Latino card, I will make sure and let him know you are thinking about him!  

 

The Andrade/Stewart fight was reported on Boxrec.com this way;

 

In the final seconds of the fight, a straight right hand knocked Stewart off his feet and out of the ring. Referee Hector Falumendoza immediately stopped the fight to attend to the unconscious Stewart.
The ringside physician and the EMT's rushed to aid Stewart. Stewart was out for cold for several minutes. It was determined that the knockout punch thrown by Andrade landed as the bell rung.
The commission ruled that the punch was “inadvertent” (unintentional) and therefore the scorecards were tallied.
Stewart Down Four Times. Andrade Takes 12 round Unanimous Decision!
