What many boxing analysts and writers have called “as the end of one fighter and the rise of another,” this fight has caught the attention of boxing fans and media alike. Not only will this be the hardest fight for both boxers, but also their future depends on a victory. And since Wladimir’s last fight against Elliseo Castillo wasn’t broadcasted in US, some analysts doubt his performance in this fight. That’s not so to Emanuel Steward, who told us a day before our visit to Wlad’s training camp, that he doesn’t understand why boxing media has been so negative to both brothers and that in his opinion Wladimir is ready like never before. As we arrived on Saturday at Caesar’s Resort in Poconos, September 3rd, before training started we found Wladimir and Emanuel talking and discussing various subjects. Then Wladimir started his stretches, moved in the ring and got ready for sparring. Wladimir sparred seven rounds, switching between three partners. Wladimir has quick, yet careful, and moved with ease around the ring. His punches were powerful and precise. Emanuel was in the ring the whole time, watching and analyzing. Afterwards Wladimir shadowboxed, used jump rope, worked on his abs and stretched. As of Saturday, Wladimir completed 70 sparring rounds. Usually training takes place twice a day, six days a week. The last week before the fight, Wladimir will only have light workouts with no sparring to prevent any injury. Bellow are pictures from Wladimir’s training.
