Oscar May Fight
Hatton
To Punish Pretty "Bad Boy" Written By William Trillo Foto Folly: Bret "The Threat" Newton
During the final week of the May 5th promotion Oscar told the media that he had to give Floyd a "Time Out" during the long press tour because Floyd was acting like a "little brat".
If reports that Floyd snubbed Golden Boys 15 million dollar offer to Mayweather to take on their star Shane Mosley are true, it just may be that Oscar is going to have to implement a little "corporal punishment" and this time the punishment will be in the form of him offering up his services to Hatton, which would make "The Hitman" stop any talks he may already be having with Mayweather, dead in their tracks.
While other sites are just figuring out that Oscar De La Hoya is considering fighting Ricky Hatton, Pound4Pound is proud to say we told you about the high profile match up only moments after Hatton disposed of Jose Luis Castillo almost two weeks ago. In our post Hatton/Castillo fight article we revealed... the U.K. Mirror reported that Hatton would be offered a Kings ransom to take on Oscar De La Hoya in a Super Fight to be held in England's hallowed Wembley stadium. The article went on to say that Oscar has told friends that one of his ambitions is to fight Hatton in Wembley before he retires.
There can be no doubt in anyone's mind that a De La Hoya vs Hatton battle in Wembley Stadium would be a fight that would receive World Wide attention and it is entirely possible the fight actually may turn out to be an exciting battle we wouldn't soon forget, (unlike the forgettable Cinco De Mayo bout). And it would be a lot better than anything we could expect from a Hatton vs. Mayweather snoozer, and you know it would be just that.
Oscar may speak softly, but the Golden Boy carries a big stick and this time he may use it as he bends Floyd Jr. over his knee and gives him a spanking that is long overdue. Questions Or Comments? Email Will "The Thrill" Trillo |
