Manny Pacquiao's Magical Mystery Tour Video

By William Trillo

As I told you a couple of weeks ago, when it comes to Manny Pacquiao, nothing is an ordinary day, and just like the Los Angeles Press conference that was a scene onto itself, lasts week's invitation to Manny's private work-out turned out to be pretty interesting  as well.

For starters, apparently Manny and his PR agent were the only two who knew we were invited to the private session at the Wildcard Gym in Hollywood. So needless to say, everyone on The Pacquiao team, not to mention some others who were not part of the team wanted to know just what the heck we were up to. When it comes to Manny, everyone is very protective, and rightly so. One fellow who didn't appear to be anyone in particular offered to escort me out by my head. An offer I politely turned down.

But when the air cleared and everyone was okay with our presence, we did get some great photos as you saw last week and we also got some nice video footage that we are posting here today.

As far as what I saw that day, let me clear up a couple rumors and suggestions that have been floating around about Manny.

First, any concern that Manny will have a hard time adjusting to not having Freddie Roach as his full time trainer is pure hogwash. >From what I saw that day, Manny and Freddies replacement, Justine Fortune get along beautifully and the two work in tandem like a well oiled machine. Manny is not going to miss a beat. I wonder if that will bother Freddie...or not?

Second, so you think all this politics stuff and Manny running for office is going to compromise his work ethic and he will be ill prepared for his fight in April...think again. Manny came into the gym and it was all about business. As soon as he got into the gym, he changed, wrapped his hands, and then got to one of the hardest workouts I have seen from anyone in quite sometime. Again, there was no time for breaks, heck there was barely enough time to stop for water. Manny busted it hard, and his 10 rounds on the mitts with no stopping in between rounds was inspiring....I think I am going to give that a try...maybe not!

Around the 9th round of the mitt work I leaned over to Bret Newton and said, "Solis is in big trouble!" He agreed, and so should you.

By the end of the day we were friends with everyone in the gym and all the early tension was gone. We thank everyone at Wildcard for allowing us this private time, and we thank Manny for allowing us a look at his training regimen, it was very impressive.
