Golden Boy Responds To Mayweather Retirement
How Will Oscar Proceed? Will He Fight In 2008?

No sooner than when we posted the retirement letter from Floyd Mayweather Jr. did I put out a call to probably the most interested party in this news breaker, that being Golden Boy and their CEO Richard Schaefer.

In a brief statement Schaefer said, “We wish Floyd the best of luck in his retirement. This does not change anything for Oscar who is committed to the sport of boxing and will fight on September 20th.”

So it looks like with or without “Money May”, De La Hoya plans on fighting on Mexican Independence Day, just as he said he would.
