Former champion Raul Marquez (41-3, 29 KO’s) produces a slow pace start in the first round against the hard punching undefeated Dominican Giovanni Lorenzo (26-1, 18 KO’s) who was able to reconstruct Marquez face in the round with hard right hands, Lorenzo continued to be the aggressor taking round to throwing sharper combinations backing up Marquez not allowing him to get settled.

Marquez comes out strong in round three trying to back up Lorenzo in the ropes and was having nothing of it taking the fight to the center of the ring continuing to land the more accurate shots in the round.

Marquez interestingly baits Lorenzo into a short brawl coming on with good pressure to Lorenzo backing him up in the fourth.  Marquez took a shot in the jaw right at the open bell came back firing great shots to Lorenzo who looked a bit confused but continued to fight back with counter shots to Marquez.

Marquez fighting with a very live spirit continues to apply pressure on Lorenzo as both fighters slow down there pace in the fight that is looking even at this point at the end of six.

Lorenzo comes on with a rally in the seventh throwing vicious upper cuts to Marquez with shifts the momentum of the fight momentarily. Both fighters getting into great exchanges in the eighth Marquez looking more dominating in the round.

Lorenzo able to come on strong in the round catches Marquez with shots to his body referee deducts a point right before the bell to Lorenzo for a head butt right after both fighters got into it with hard shots that got ugly right after the bell with wrestling and cheep blows from each fighter.

Both fighters letting there hands go in the last 2 rounds Marquez showed great determination and effort in this fight, Judges scores 113-114 for Marquez the winner of the IBF eliminator.
