This week in Sante Fe Springs the undefeated Super Middleweight Shawn Estrada (10-0,9 KO’s) was putting some finishing touches on his training camp routine as he prepares to take on Jon Schmidt next week on a very fine card at Pechanga Resort and Casino. With the help of another fine 168 pounder, Librado Andrade, it looks like Estrada is ready to keep his winning streak alive.

We spoke to Shawn after his workout:

P4P: Shawn, the fight is January 28th and you are on a great card!

Shawn Estrada: Yeah, I am on the Cris Arreola card, and you got Mike Dallas vs. Josesito Lopez and John John Molina on the card too. We are all with the same promoter Goossen Tutor, and I can tell you I am ready for a big night. I am happy, I have not fought at home in a while and this is my back yard, so to speak. I am very excited. This is my territory and 2011 is my year!

P4P: You have the good fortune of having Librado Andrade working out at the same gymn as you so it’s only a natural for you guys to hook up with some sparring, tell me about that.

SE: It’s great and I am thrilled to have a great guy like this working with me. Librado is the # 2 ranked Super Middle in the WBC and he has the best chin in boxing, getting the chance to work with a fighter like this can only help my career to improve.

P4P: After sparring with a guy like Librado, who has seen the best in the division, it must make it seem easy once you face your opponent.

SE: Yes, the work that I put in with Librado is awesome and without compare, you just cant believe how much you can learn from a guy like this.

P4P: What can fans expect to see from you next week?

SE: I am ready to go and I want to show more of my skills. My fights have ended quickly lately, I am looking to get some good work in next week to show my fans I am the total package. It’s only going to get better for me this year and I plan on conquering, like David & Goliath, it’s my year.
