Q & A With Daniel "Twitch"
Franco
By William Trillo
This Saturday night at The Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los
Angeles undefeated Super Featherweight Daniel Franco will be
featured on a great year ending card promoted by Ed Homes’
All Star Boxing. Franco is one of the young fighters in
Southern California who shows huge upside and with his fan
friendly style he could become a must see fighter in 2014.
We spoke with Franco this week and got his thoughts his
career and his plans for the future.
Pound4Pound: On Saturday Night you are going to close out
the year on a boxing show in Los Angeles. Are you ready to
give your fans and early Christmas gift?
Daniel Franco: Of course I am ready! The fight fans to
attend are in for spectacular fight.
P4P: In October you won in pretty spectacular fashion with a
4th round KO. Can you tell us about that performance?
DF: We took that fight on a four day notice. I was limited
to one day of sparring to prepare for a southpaw, but i had
been staying busy in the gym so being in-shape was not a
problem at all. The first three rounds of the fight i was
out-boxing my opponent...going into the fourth round my
corner told me that i needed to knock him out and not leave
it up to the judges. (My previous fight scored a majority
draw). I knew what my corner wanted me to do, so i executed.
P4P: Are you looking to close the year in similar fashion,
with a KO?
DF: If I win this fight by KO i will be very happy. But, I’m
not going to be looking for the KO. I am sticking with the
game plan and then we will see if he goes out.
P4P: 2014 is right around the corner, have you made any
resolutions for your career for the coming year? What should
we expect to see from you next year?
DF: Yes! I want to be busier than I have ever been this
coming year. In the past my fights have been spread apart
because of school, I am majoring in Nero sociology, but now
i am completely focused on my career as a professional
fighter. Expect to see me more frequently and nothing but
spectacular performances.
P4P: Thanks for your time and good luck to you, and a Merry
Christmas to you and your family. Do you have anything to
say in closing to your fans?
DF: Thank you very much! Happy holidays to you and your
family. I want to thank everyone who believes in me and
knows that one day i will be at the top. It really is
amazing and an honor to be surrounded by people that have
such great faith in my ability. I would like to thank my
manager Ray Chaparro who is doing an amazing job along with
Mario Aguiniga and my coaches and the entire DTF Squad
(Daniel “Twitch” Franco.
Thank you so much for your time!
