MONTRÉAL - The promoter of The Eye Of The Tiger Management Group, the Montrealer Camille Estephan, confirmed that Steven Butler will be involved in the main event of the boxing show presented June 23rd at the Montréal Casino.

Butler (23-1-1), a super welterweight from Montréal, will face Carson Jones (40-13-3), from Oklahoma. Butler really hopes to be involved in a North American championship before the end of the year or the beginning of next year.

On his side, Carson fought twice the British Kell Brook (37-2-0), the WBC 154 pounds Silver champion. Brook won the first match up by majority decision of the judges, and won the rematch by TKO in the 8th round.

“Butler will face a tough opponent June 23rd, and it’s positive for his future in boxing,” said Estephan in a press conference held Friday afternoon at the Montréal Casino. “Steven really hopes to fight on the international boxing scene in the months to come, then, this fight with Jones is a step in that direction.”

The Montrealer super middleweight Erik Bazinyan (18-0-0), the super welterweight Vincent Thibault (4-0-0), from Québec City, the super welterweight Raphael Courchesne (2-0-0), from Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec, and the female Kim Clavel (3-0-0), a flyweight from Montréal, will be involved in the preliminaries of this boxing show.
