Patrice L'Heureux Passes Away
By Daniel Cloutier
MONTRÉAL - The former Canadian heavyweight champion, Patrice
L’Heureux, died from a heart attack Monday morning in
Shawinigan, a city located between Montréal and Québec City.
He was 46 years old.
A fighter of 250 pounds, L’Heureux (24-5-1) took his
retirement in November 2010 after a lost by TKO in less than
five rounds against the Montrealer Wayne John (4-3-0).
L’Heureux was married since a year. His wife found him dead
in the family bed Monday morning.
He was present Saturday evening at the Videotron Centre in
Québec City, to assist to this heavyweight bout between
Simon Kean (15-1-0), from Trois-Rivières ( a city located at
15 miles of Shawinigan), and Dillon Carman (14-3-0), from
Toronto. Carman caused a surprise. He became the first
fighter to beat Kean. He beat him by KO in the fourth round.
