Lemieux Will Fight Johnson Dec. 15 In New York

MONTRÉAL - Former IBF middleweight champion of the world,
the Montrealer David Lemieux will dispute his next bout
December 15th at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
Ranked third contender by the WBC in the 160 pounds
division, Lemieux (40-4-0) will face Tureano Johnson
(20-2-0) from Bahamas, in a 10 round bouts.
At his last fight, September 15th at the T-Mobile Arena in
Las Vegas, Lemieux beat the Irish Gary O’Sullivan by KO in
the first round. Before the bout, O’Sullivan (28-3-0) was
ranked third contender by the WBA and sixth by the IBF in
the middleweight division.
On his side, Johnson lost his last fight March 3rd in Miami,
by TKO in the 12th round against the Ukrainian Sergiy
If Lemieux beats Johnson, he has a very strong chance to
face the WBC and WBA middleweight champion of the world, the
Mexican Saul Canelo Alvarez (50-1-2), next May in Las Vegas.
Lemieux will fight Johnson just before the main event
opposing Saul Canelo Alvarez to the British Rocky Fielding
(27-1-0). There a strong possibility that the Montrealer
super lightweight Yves Ulysse Jr . (16-1-0) will be involved
in the preliminaries bouts of this boxing show.
