Pascal vs. Bossé Could Be Postponed
By Daniel Cloutier
MONTRÉAL— The promoter of the GYM Group, the Montrealer Yvon
Michel, could confirmed in the next hours that the fight
between the Montrealers Jean Pascal and Steve Bossé,
originally scheduled for June 29th at Place Bell in Laval,
could be postponed for July 20th.
Apparently, Bossé, a former UFC champion who has only one
pro boxing bout (1-0-0), could have his boxing licence
renewed only in two weeks by the Québec Athletic Commission
(Régie provinciale des sports de combat).
In the circumstances, Yvon Michel believes it would be more
careful to postponed the fight for July 20th.
Former WBC light heavyweight (175 pounds) champion of the
world, Pascal (32-5-1) announced his retirement last
December, few days after his win by TKO against the Egyptian
Ahmed Elbiali (17-1-0) in Miami. However, Bossé challenged
Pascal publicly in February. Pascal called Yvon Michel right
away to tell him that he was ready to get out of his
retirement to face Bossé.
Pascal and Bossé, who will be involved in the main event of
this boxing show, will fight in the cruiserweight division
