Pascal Will Fight Bossé June 29 At Bell Centre

By Daniel Cloutier

QUÉBEC CITY - Former WBC light heavyweight champion of the world, the Montrealer Jean Pascal will face the former UFC champion, the Montrealer Steve Bossé, in the main event of a boxing show organized by the GYM Group June 29th at Place Bell in Laval, a northern suburb of Montréal. Pascal (32-5-1) will face Bossé (1-0-0) in a 10 rounds bout.

A fighter of 35 years old, Pascal announced his retirement after his win by TKO in 6th round against the Egyptian Ahmed Elbiali (16-1-0) last December in Miami. But he changed his mind, when Bossé challenged him publicly.

Just before the fight Pascal-Bossé, Francis Lafrenière (16-6-2), from Côteau-du-Lac (West island of Montréal), will get a rematch against Albert Onolunose (23-1-1), a Nigerian living in Calgary, Alberta, in a NABO North American championship. Last March in Montréal, Lafrenière lost by majority decision of the judges against Onolunose, and he was wishing to get a rematch. It’s done.
