MONTRÉAL — The promoter of the GYM Group in Montréal, Yvon Michel, confirmed that the WBC light heavyweight champion of the world, the Montrealer southpaw Adonis Stevenson, will face the Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdyk December 1st at Videotron Centre in Québec City.

For Stevenson, one of the most powerful puncher pound for pound in the world, it will be the 10th defense of his 175 pounds WBC light heavyweight championship of the world.

Stevenson has a pro record of 29-1-1, with 24 wins by KO or TKO, and Gvozdyk has a perfect record of 15-0-0 with 12 victories by KO or TKO.

A fighter from Kharkov, Ukraine, living in Oxford, California, Gvozdyk is the WBC mandatory challenger.

Several boxing writers in Europe believe that Gvozdyk will dethrone Stevenson and become the new master of the light heavyweight division.
