Super featherweight Hector Tanajara (13-0, 5 KO’s) remained undefeated but over the course of the fight he found out Hector Ambriz (12-6-1, 6 KO’s) could be as tough as a “Two Dollar Steak”. Tanjara found himself to be in complete control for most of the fight but a game Ambriz had his occasional moment. That being said it was a lopsided unanimous decision in favor of Tanajara who took the fight 80-72 on all the judges’ cards.

“I feel good. I almost had him out, but this guy [Ambriz] can take a punch. I hope to be back as early as June or July. I’m ready for a regional title as soon as Golden Boy Promotions says we’re ready for it.”

Flyweight Marlen Esparza (5-0, 1 KO) brought home “The Bacon”, (for lack of a better term), as she KO’d Laetizia Campana (2-4) at the opening of the third round. Esparza went all “Double Double” on Campana before the ref had enough and brought this one to a grinding halt just seconds into the third round.

“We worked on being more aggressive and landing the right hand,” said Marlen Esparza. “People aren’t used to seeing that side of me, so I showed it to make a statement. Who do I want? Did you see me point at her after I won? I want Seniesa Estrada.”

Super Featherweight Jose Vargas (4-0, 3 KO’s) and Jose Careaga (1-2) opened the show in a battle that didn’t last three minutes. Careaga was “Dead Meat” inside of the 52 second mark. A barrage of punches along the ropes by Vargas put Careaga down. He had no intention of rising before the inevitable count of ten.

“After all this hard work, I feel great,” said Jose Vargas. “I get in a lot of good work with my teammates Joet and Jousce Gonzalez. They really push me hard. I landed a hard right uppercut that ended the fight quickly, so I hope to be back soon.”
