Mikael Zewski: "I Want To Be Ranked
In The Top 5 Before The End Of The Year"

MONTRÉAL - The Canadian welterweight Mikael Zewski is extremely ambitious. This fighter from Trois-Rivières, Québec, wants absolutely to be ranked in the Top 5 of the international ratings before the end of the year. Thursday evening in the ring of the Montréal Casino, Zewski (29-1-0) will fight the Mexican Jose De Jesus Macias (23-7-2) in a eight round fight.

“All the fights are very important for me, but it’s crucial for me to maintain this winning sequence,” said Zewski Wednesday afternoon at the weight in held at the Montréal Casino. “My goal is to be ranked in the Top 5 of the international ratings before the end of the year. To reach this objective, I got to be the winner each time I am showing in the ring.”

Zewski saw Macias in action few times. “Yes, I saw him in action, and I know this guy is coming in Montréal with the serious intention to fight with rage and try to surprise me,” said Zewski. “He is always very intense and solid on legs. I won’t try to score a KO against this warrior. I want to use my skills and my experience to dominate the rounds and get out of the ring in the winning shoes. It will be important for me to fight with concentration and discipline from the beginning to the end of this fight. For sure, I got to fight and beat good opponents to take back my place in the international ratings, and more, reach the Top 5 of the international ratings.”

At the weight in, supervised by the Quebec Athletic Commission, Zewski posted an official weight of 154 pounds, versus 153.4 for Macias.

The promoter of the GYM Group, Yvon Michel, confirmed that the light heavyweight Steven Bossé, who left the UFC to start a boxing career, will make is pro debut on this boxing show. Bossé will face the heavyweight Bolivian Julio Cuellar Cabrera (12-6-0).

“I don’t have the Cabrera’s experience in boxing, I am not heavy like he is, but I don’t mind, I am sure I have the skills necessaries to make a successful boxing career,” said Bossé. “I am ready to face all the big names that the GYM Group will want to oppose me.”

The Montrealer Romanian Bruno Bredicean (9-0-0), a welterweight, will be opposed to the Mexican Cesar Chavez (32-12-0), Yan Pellerin, another former UFC fighter, will make his pro debut in boxing in facing the Mexican light heavyweight Fernando Castillo (2-2-0) and the Montrealer Mazium Akdenis (2-0-0), a super lightweight, will meet the Mexican Luis Acuna Rojas (2-1-0).

The Montrealer female Marie-Ève Dicaire (10-0-0) will try to win his first title in pro boxing in fighting the former world champion Marisa Gabriela Nunez (7-8-0), from Argentina. The two females will fight for the NABF North American welterweight championship.

Another female’s bout will involved the Montrealer Jessica Camara (3-0-0). She will fight the Mexican Guadelupe Ortiz (2-5-0).

At the weight in, Bossé posted an official weight of 224.6, Cabrera 258.8, Bredicean 151.4, Chavez 150.8, Pellerin 189.6, Castillo 184.6, Akedenis 140, Rojas 141.4, Dicaire 152.2, Nunez 147.2, Camara 138.4 and Ortiz 138.4 pounds.

It will be the 56th boxing shows presented by the GYM Group at the Montréal Casino.
