By Daniel Cloutier

MONTRÉAL — The Montrealer Marie-Eve Dicaire and Michael Zewski, from Trois-Rivières, Québec, will be involved in the the two main fights of the evening June 28th at the Montreal Casino. This boxing show will be presented by the GYM Group, leaded by the promoter Yvon Michel.

Dicaire (15-0-0) will proceed to the second defense of her IBF super welterweight (154 pounds) world female title, and Zewski (32-1-0) will defend his welterweight (147 pounds) WBC International championship.

Dicaire will face her second contender, the Swedish Maria Lindberg (17-4-2), and Zewsky will fight the Mexican Abner Lopez (27-9-1).

“I faced my first contender at my last bout, and now I am fighting my second contender,” said Dicaire. “I like big challenges, and for the second time in a row, it will be a big challenge. I am determinate to keep my perfect record, and I really believe I will do it. I am in perfect shape and I am expecting to deliver a great performance June 28th.”

Zewski also is ready for a big challenge. “I really want to get back my place in the Top 10 of the international ratings, then, it’s crucial to maintain my winning sequence,” said Zewsky. “Since my only losa in pro boxing, against the Russian Kontantin Ponomarev (in 2015), I won six fights in a row, and I am ready for a seventh one. When my name will appear again in the Top 10 of the international ratings, I will be in position to get a shot for a world title, and it’s exactly what I am dreaming. My prediction? I will beat Lopez by KO or TKO June 28th.”

Yvon Michel confirmed that the middleweight Francis Lafrenière (18-7-2), from Côteau-du-Lac, in the West Island of Montréal, the Montrealer cruiserweight Terry Osias (8-0-0) and the Montrealer light heavyweight Wilfred Seyi (4-0-0), will be involved in the preliminaries bouts of this boxing show.

“I am positive we will have great action June 28th,” said the scout of the GYM Group, Bernard Barré. “Dicaire and Zewski will need to fight intensively to win their bouts, and I am sure they will do it, and we can expect to have interesting preliminaries fights that night.”

Yvon Michel will reveal soon the identity of all the fighters involved in this boxing show.
