Phinn Will Fight Raygosa;
Dicaire vs. Tajeda Cancelled

MONTRÉAL — The GYM Group will present a boxing show for the 63th time at the Montréal Casino Saturday afternoon.In the main event, the Montrealer super middleweight Shakeel Phinn (19-2-1) will fight the Mexican Juan Carlos Raygosa (12-14-3) in an eight rounder.

“Phinn is close to take part to a North American championship,” said the scout of the GYM Group, Bernard Barré. “Then, it’s important for him to maintain his winning’s sequence.”

The main event was supposed to be a female world championship. The Montrealer female Marie-Eve Dicaire (14-0-0) was supposed to proceed to the first defense of her IBF super welterweight championship of the world, but her rival, the Dominican Lina Tejada (12-5-0), failed a medical test.

The doctors of the Quebec Athletic Commission (Régie provincials des sports de combat) mentioned that Tejada got a serious problem with her left eye, then, they cancelled the bout.

The Montrealer light heavyweight Wilfried Seyi (3-0-0) will face the Mexican Ismael Molina Moreno (2-0-0).

The Montrealer middleweight Adam Ayoubi (1-2-1) will be opposed to the Montrealer Dizon Belfon, who will make his pro debut.

The light heavyweight Terry Osias, who lives on the south shore of Montréal, will challenge the Mexican Juan Santiago Colchado (6-3-1).

The Montrealer super lightweight Louis Jourdain, who is making also his pro debut, will fight the Mexican Antonio Vergara (2-5-1).

The super lightweight Abed El-Safadi (1-0-0), an Arabic living in Montréal, will face the Mexican Rodrigo Felix (2-0-0).

The Californian light heavyweight Simon-Pierre Adde (4-0-0) will be opposed to Devin Tomko (6-0-0), from Ottawa.

And finally, the super middleweight Alexandre Leng, another Montrealer who is making his pro debut, will challenge the Mexican Gerardo Aldama (1-1-0).

At the weigh in, Phinn posted an official weight of 169.2 pounds, Raygosa 167.8, Seyi 172.4, Moreno 164.2, Ayoubi 159.2, Belfon 159, Osias 174.6, Colchado 173.6, Jourdain 138.2, Vergara 135.2, El-Safadi 137.8, Felix 135.8, Adde 174.6, Tomko 174, Leng 167.6 and finally, Aldama 168.
