Théroux vs. Alfaro Weigh-In At The Montréal Casino

By Daniel Cloutier

MONTRÉAL - The welterweight David Théroux, from Sorel, Québec, will be involved in the main event of the boxing show presented by the GYM Group Saturday afternoon at the Montréal Casino Cabaret.
It will be the 62nd boxing show presented by the Group GYM at the Montréal Casino. Théroux (14-3-0) will face the veteran Jose Alfaro (31-11-1), from Nicaragua, in a 10 rounds fight.

“Alfaro was world champion in 2007, it was his glorious moment, but now, it’s my turn to have my glorious time,” said Théroux Friday afternoon at the weigh in. “ really hope to dispute a North American championship in the months to come. A North American champion has strong chances to see his name in the international ratings.”

Théroux believes he gonna win this fight by KO. “I am sure that Alfaro will try to surprise me with power shots, but trust me, he won’t surprise me,” said Théroux. “I will fight with intensity and concentration from the beginning to the end, and I really believe I gonna win this fight by KO or TKO.”

The scout of the GYM Group, Bernard Barré, is also persuaded that Théroux will be in the winning shoes.
“Alfaro has been world champion, it’s the reality, but he is 35 years old now,” said Barré. “Théroux, who is only 25 years old, is strong physically and he is punching solidly. My prediction? Théroux gonna win this bout by KO or TKO before the end of the seventh round.”
