M’Billi Still Undefeated

By Daniel Cloutier

MONTRÉAL - The Montrealer Christian M’Billi, a super middleweight coming from Cameroon, Africa, stayed undefeated Thursday night in West Point, New York, in beating the Mexican Jesus Antonio Gutierrez-Vasquez by TKO.

In the fifth round, M’Billi provoked two knockdowns with solids left hooks on the chin, few seconds after he floored again his opponent with an uppercut on the jaw, and the referee intervened to declare Guiterrez-Vazquez TKO.

“I know that I hurt my opponent in the second round, and from that point, I intensified my attacks and you saw the result,” said M’Billi after the bout. “I hope to have significant bouts in the months to come. Recently, I moved from the middleweight division (160 pounds) to the super middleweight division (168 pounds), and I feel very comfortable in my new weight division.”

M’Billi had now a pro record of 18-0-0, with 17 wins by KO or TKO. Guiterrez-Vazquez finished the bout with a record of 27-5-2
