By Daniel Cloutier

QUEBEC CITY, Quebec, Canada —— The Montrealer promoter Camille Estephan will present a pro boxing show tonight (Thursday) at the Vidéotron Centre in Québec City. In the main event, the Montrealer Russian Arslenbek Makhmudov will face the German Erkan Teper in a NABF and NABA North American championship (10 rounds). Makhmudov has a perfect record of 12-0-0, 12 wins by KO or TKO. Teper has a pro record of 21-3-0, 13 wins by KO or TKO.

“I hope to get my 13th win by KO or TKO, but I don’t know if it will happen,” said Makhmudov. “I hope to leave Quebec City in a glory atmosphere, but we will see. For sure, my goal is to dispute eventually a heavyweight world championship bout. Then, I want to stay undefeated.”

Teper believes he will surprise Makhmudov. “I know that Makhmudov is a powerful boxer, a dangerous puncher, but I think that my experience in pro boxing will help me to surprise him,” said Teper. “I am ready for this challenge. I got a great training camp, then, I will certainly fight correctly. I really believe I will be a very happy man after this event.”

At the weigh in, supervised Friday afternoon by the Quebec Athletic Commission at the Hilton Hotel in Québec City, Makhmudov posted an official weight of 260 pounds, versus 264 for the German.
