  Cloutier’s Canada Corner
Makhmudov vs. Joyce Should
Happen In Dallas On March 20

By Daniel Cloutier

MONTRÉAL - The Montrealer Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov will probably defend his heavyweight NABF North American championship March 20th in Dallas, Texas, in facing apparently the British Joe Joyce. This fight should be confirmed in the next days or next weeks.

Makhmudov scored 11 KO or TKO in 11 pro bouts, and Joyce has also a perfect record of 12-0-0, 11 wins by KO or TKO. Joyce is ranked 11th contender by the WBO, and 12th by the IBF.

The winner of this fight has particularly good chances to be ranked in the Top 10 of the WBC, the WBA, the WBO or the IBF ratings.

At his last fight, October 10th 2010 in Shawinigan, Québec, Makhmudov won by KO in the first round against Dillon Carman (14-6-0), from Toronto.

Joyce won his last bout against his countryman Daniel Dubois (15-1-0), November 28th 2020 in Westminster, England.

Joyce won by KO in the 10th round.
