Golden Boy Undercard Results From Los Angeles
By William Trillo
Super Welterweight Alex Rincon (10-0, 7 KO’s) dropped a
right hand on Luis Midyael Sanchez (9-3, 6 KO’s) that sent
him crumbling to the canvas in round two. Sanchez got to his
feet but a left hand from Rincon sealed the deal. Rincon
took the fight by KO at the 1:44 mark of round two. In a
somewhat odd sidenote Rincon collapsed in his corner after
the fight but appeared to recover.
Bantamweight John Ramirez (9-0, 7 KO’s) found out why
Roberto Pucheta (10-21-3, 6 KO’s) has only been KO’d once in
21 losses. Ramirez threw everything but the kitchen sink at
Pucheta but the granite chinned fighter from Jalisco was
never even buzzed. For his efforts judges score the fight
60-54 x 3.
Super Lightweight Alejandro Reyes (7-0, 4 KO’s) took on
Daniel Evangelista Jr (20-13-2, 16 KO’s) in a rugged little
battle. Reyes stunned Evangelista numerous times dropping
him twice but the haggard fighter got to his feet to survive
the six round scrap. In the end Reyes took a unanimous
decision with scores of 60-54 across the board.
Lightweight Miguel Gaona (1-0) needed only one properly
place body shot to dispatch of Gilberto Aguilar (0-4). He
did that at the 30 second mark of the first round.
Lightweight Dalis Kaleiopu (2-0, 2 KO) stopped Manuel Lara
(2-8) at the 2:15 mark of round 4.
Super Bantamweight Ramla Ali (4-0, 1 KO) defeats Shelly
Barnett (5-6-2) by Koin round one.
