Pacquiao Routs Mosley In Glorified Sparring Session; Arce Revives Mexico vS. Puerto Rico Ring Wars
By Roy & Marlene Marquez @ Ringside

Pound4Pound kingpin Manny Pacquiao walked to, through and over Sugar Shane Mosley in a one sided affair that drew the ire of a crowd that deserved more. So too did Pacquiao. The eight division champion chased Mosley around the ring looking to fight but Mosley refused to engage and seemingly retired in the ring. Mosley won one round on two scorecards and none on the third in a fight that was never was. “What am I going to do if my opponent doesn’t want to fight toe to toe with me?” asked Pacquiao following the fight.   Manny Pacquiao Retains WBO Title With
Lopsided Decision Over Shane Mosley

Photos: Tom Casino - SHOWTIME

On the first Saturday of May, boxing’s top thoroughbred, global superstar and Filipino Congressman, Manny Pacquiao, won a resounding 12-round decision over Shane Mosley to retain his WBO welterweight title in the main event of a four-fight telecast produced and distributed by SHOWTIME PPV.

The one-sided victory before 16,412 at the sold-out MGM Grand Garden Arena was the 14th in a row for Pacquiao, of General Santos City, Philippines. An eight-division world champion, Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KOs) was victorious by the scores of 120-107, 120-108 and 119-108.   Pacquiao Wins 12 Round To Zip
While Mosley Shows Poor Performance

Photo: Chris Farina - Top Rank

Manny Pacquiao (now 53-3-2, 38 KO's) had an extremely easy night against Shane Mosley, winning every single round on two judges score cards, while the third gave Mosley a single pity round. Mosley's performance was so lackluster that his purse should consider being withheld.

There is no need for a round-by-round as nearly each round played out the same: Pacquiao jumps in with some big shots; Mosley retreats; Mosley holds. That's it.

In round 3, a jab-left combo sent Mosley down for the first time in the fight and into panic mode. From that moment on, Mosley did very little, if anything at all.

Pacquiao didn't even need to do much as he did just enough to win every single round.

In round 10, referee Kenny Bayless wrongfully ruled a knockdown in favor of Mosley when Pacquiao clearly slipped to the canvas. Bayless was directly infront of the two when it happened and it's a mystery why he called it an official knockdown. That apparently didn't matter on the scores and Pacquiao still didn't lose that round.

Final scores were 120-108, 120-107 and 119-108. Mosley falls to 46-7-1-1 with 39 KO's.

Pacquiao “Plasters” Margarito
Takes Vacant WBC 154 Pound Belt

By William Trillo
Photos By Naoki Fukada

For everyone who wanted to see Antonio Margarito (38-7, 27 KO's) get what they felt he had coming to him, and there were many, Saturday night should have made them happy. Manny Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KO's) overcame a huge difference in size and crushed the brave Mexican Warriors face, literally. Not only did Tony suffer a crushed orbital bone in his cheek but it seems he had his nose fractured as well. Sergio Diaz, Tony's co-manager, said Sunday that an eye muscle is lodged in that fracture and needs to be surgically repaired. Manny’s dominance over the bigger foe was more than stunning, not that most didn’t expect him to win, but the beating he put on Margarito was off the charts.

Eye muscle lodged in the fracture?? Yow!! Click Here For Full Blog

  Pacquiao Makes Margarito A Mismatch,
Wins 12 Rounds To 0 In Beat Down

Photo: Chris Farina - Top Rank

Manny Pacquiao (now 52-3-2, 38 KO's) won a lopsided unanimous decision over Antonio Margarito that saw him win every single round. Despite being outweighed by seventeen pounds tonight, Pacquiao was just too fast for Margarito who just couldn't get anything started.

From the opening round, Pacquiao was in and out, landing first and last. Margarito's punches would swing after Pacquiao was already at a distance.

In round 4, Pacquiao opened up a cut under Margarito's right eye with an uppercut. A body shot buckled Margarito as he almost looked to go down.

Pacquiao began to slow by round 8, but kept moving and putting the pressure on Margarito every time he got close. Margarito had his best round in the 8th as Pacquiao laid against the ropes, who was still connecting at a higher rate.

In round 10, a right hook on the side of the head staggered Margarito at the end of the round as he was out on his feet and saved by the bell.

In round 11, Pacquiao landed a number of combinations flush on Margarito's bloody face, constantly looking at the referee to step in who never did.

Pacquiao closed the night in the 12th taking it a little easy on Margarito, who's eyes were both nearly completely shut, allowing him to finish the fight on his feet.

Final scores were 120-108, 118-110 and 119-109.
Margarito falls to 38-7 with 27 KO's.

Is Arum Paving A New Road For Pacquiao?
And Other Questions Someone Had To Ask

By William Trillo
Photo-Chop: Bret "The Threat"

Am I the only one who scratched his head after reading the comments Bob Arum made in the Los Angeles Times recently? First Bob said that Pacquiao has agreed to submit to random pre-fight blood tests up to 14 days before a fight with Mayweather.

Don't get too excited yet!

After that the article reveals that Arum speculates by suggesting that Mayweather is still deciding whether or not he wants to fight this year. The sticking point could be the legal situation of Floyd Jr.'s uncle and trainer, Roger Mayweather, who faces a coming trial date for allegedly attacking a female boxer last year. Arum said he believes "we'll have to fish or cut bait by the end of next week."

Clottey Gives Disgraceful Performance As Pacquiao Wins 12 Round To 0 Against Unwilling Opponent
Photo: Chris Farina - Top Rank

Manny Pacquiao (now 51-3-2, 30 KO's) won an easier than expected fight against Joshua Clottey who gave an un-Clottey-like display for 12 rounds, as he appeared unwilling to try. To many viewers, this fight may have looked like a "pay day" in fact, as Clottey basically did defense for 12 full rounds, winning only a single round on two of the 3 judges score cards.

From the beginning to end, it was Pacquiao as the busier, more active fighter, constantly throwing, landing and actually "TRYING" being the key word. Clottey appeared to be waiting for Pacquiao to tire before he turned it on, but he never did. He just waited and waited, and did very little if anything at all.

In between rounds 8 and 9, Clottey's trainer told him, "You're losing every damn round.". In between rounds 9 and 10, he added "you still haven't won a round!".

Clottey's best moments were rounds 3 and 11 where his uppercuts were landing with ease, snapping Pacquiao's head up, but were they enough to win rounds where Pacquiao fought hard from beginning to end.

Final scores were 120-108, 119-109, 119-109.

Clottey falls to 35-4 with 21 KO's.

Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Has A Home
Viva Las Vegas!

By William Trillo

Bright light city gonna set my soul,
Gonna set my soul on fire,
Got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn,
So get those stakes up higher!

Amid rumors, speculation, innuendo and balderdash, the most anticipated fight of the new millennium apparently will not be heading to Jerry Jones' Dallas Stadium but instead will be going to...drum roll please, Las Vegas.

That's right folks, according to multiple sources the Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Maweather Pound4Pound title fight is headed to sin city. Pacquiao’s Canadian adviser, Mike Koncz, said that they always knew that Las Vegas would host the fight. “As far as we know it’s always been Vegas,” Koncz told The Philippine Star.

Pacquiao - The Fast And The Furious
By Barbara Pinnella
Many thought that Manny Pacquiao (50-3-2, 37 KOs) would win his fight against Miguel Cotto (34-2, 27 KOs). But he was not without his critics. His doubters had said that he was involved in too many things and that his mind was not 100% on the job at hand. There was discord in his camp and that took a toll on him mentally.

Well, if all those things were true, than he is as strong and gifted emotionally as he is physically. One did not have to be a fan of boxing to appreciate the clinic put on by Manny on Saturday night. Was this good for boxing? I think yes.

Manny: The Calm In The Eye Of The Storm

By William Trillo
On my drive home from Las Vegas yesterday all I could do was wonder how Manny Pacquiao does it time and time again. I mean, it's not a secret that there is always rumors of outside distractions and turmoil inside his camp before every fight, yet when Pacman climbs into the ring any outside disturbances have no effect on him whatsoever.

Manny handles his business inside the ring like no other, so what is his secret?

I came to the conclusion that Manny lives his life inside the eye of the storm. Scientifically speaking, the eye of the storm is the calmest place to be when all else around it is getting hammered by the cyclone. The barometric pressure in that cyclone is lower than anywhere else around it. Much like the storm, the pressure heaped on Pacquiao is negligible and he uses the storms power to produce fantastic and destructive results.   Pacquiao Stays Focused In Ring To Break Down Cotto;
12th Round TKO Gives Him Lucky # 7

By William Trillo
WBO Welterweight Champ came out looking sharp early against the fiery quick Pacquiao and was looking to make Manny regret facing him. For a time early in the fight this one had the makings of fight of the year all over it.

Going into round three the fight turned to Cotto’s favor and by anyone’s account he was easily winning the round with strong jabs and straight counters. Out of seemingly nowhere Manny hit Cotto with shots Cotto said he never saw and just like that Cotto was down.

The round that should have been one in the tank for the Champ was suddenly a 10-8 round for the challenger Pacquiao. In an instant the boisterous Puerto Rican fans in the house were on the edge of their seats with concern.

Pacquiao Dominates, Destroys, Then Stops Cotto
By William Trillo & Bret "The Threat" Newton
Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao had an easier time than expected with Miguel Cotto as he put on a completely one sided affair, dropping Cotto early, then outworking him through the entire fight before stopping him in the 12th. While Cotto had his moments and landed his best shots, he was never active enough to win any rounds as Pacquiao was just way too much to handle.

The fight looked close to the end early, but Cotto stayed away from being knocked out until the final round as the beating he was taking was too much for referee Kenny Bayless to withstand, who jumped in to save Cotto from further punishment.

Pacquiao Knocks Hatton Cold In Just 2 Rounds
By William Trillo & Bret Newton
Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao (the REAL number 1 Pound4Pound fighter in the world) made short work of Ricky Hatton in what was expected to be a close fought, back and forth war. Pacquiao scored two knockdowns in the opening round, then one more in the second round with a single left hook that put Hatton flat on his back for the count.

From the beginning, the fight was a mismatch as a quick hook staggered Hatton early. Hatton pressed Pacquiao to the ropes and tried to work the body, but once Pacquiao decided to unleash, Hatton was wobbling to the opposite side of the ring. A strong right on the chin put Hatton down to his knees for the first time in the fight. Hatton in a fetal position truly showed the damage just a minute into the fight. Referee Kenny Bayless felt the need to give Hatton extra time to recuperate as he pushed Pacquiao back twice and took his time with wiping Hatton's gloves.
Up on uneasy legs, Pacquiao went for the kill and dropped Hatton once again. This time Hatton was just one punch away from being stopped. Hatton made it out of the round staggering to his corner.

In round 2, Hatton gave it his best shot to try and land his hooks to the body, but once on the inside, Pacquiao was just too strong as a left hook absolutely flattened Hatton on his back. There was no need to count as Hatton showed no signs of movement.

With the win, Pacquiao remains the true pound4pound number one fighter in the world. Pacquiao beat Hatton, not only in such convincing fashion, but at his own weight which was Hatton's first loss at Jr. Welter. Don't be fooled by the recent return of another former pound4pound fighter as he has chosen to fight top fighters at lighter weights and by making them move up. This fight was Pacquiao moving up and beating the best at their own weight class which is much more an accomplishment. Pacquiao also remains to be the most entertaining fighter in the world today.

Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton made their one and only United States press tour appearance for their upcoming mega-bout on May 2nd. This wasn't the typical press conference as they rolled out the red carpet for a star studded event that had fans gathered up and down Hollywood Blvd.. Actors such as Mark Wahlberg and Mickey Rourke also hit the carpet walk who are also big admirers of the two fighters. Trainers Freddie Roach and Floyd Mayweather Sr. both predicted knockouts, while Pacquiao and Hatton promised to give their best on fight night.

  He Will Rock You
By William Trillo
Buddy you’re an old man poor man
Pleadin’ with your eyes
Gonna be a big man some day

You got blood on your face
You big disgrace
Kickin’ your can all over the place
                          Brian May/Queen

Manny Pacquiao marching out to the Queen song, “We Will Rock You” was the most prophetic entry song for a boxer you will ever see or hear.

EVER!

What Oscar De La Hoya was about to experience was without a doubt the worst 24 minutes inside the squared circle that The Golden Boy has been on the receiving end of. In turn, the majority of the so called experts in the media watched their prediction of Oscar being too big and strong for the “diminutive” Filipino blow up in their collective faces.   "The Dream Match" Turns Into Mismatch;
PACQUIAO STOPS DE LA HOYA IN 8!!!!!!!!!

Photo: Bret "The Threat" Newton
Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao did what many did not think was possible. Not only did he beat the "bigger" Oscar De La Hoya, but he EASILY outboxed him through 8 rounds that Oscar didn't win a single one of. Pacquiao won as lopsided a fight as not many expected, but as Oscar proceeded to "get that ass beat", he knew that Pacquiao was too fast and too strong, so he quit on his stool after the 8th round.

All three judges at ringside scored the 7th round a 10-8 as Oscar was pummeled around the ring and was nearly stopped. Only one judge gave Oscar a single round, which was the first round, which was also one of the easiest rounds to score as Pacquiao easily jabbed Oscar's head off to start the fight and give his fans hope.

And to all the hate mail and negative comments we here at Pound4Pound got for going out on a limb by predicting Manny by stoppage, be sure your emails will be featured in our upcoming mail bag, lol. We told ya' so.

Warning: Those who suffer from high blood pressure, have a heart condition, sweat profusely after a 30 second walk from the hotel to the press bus in the Las Vegas summer or are currently eating a cream filled donut while washing it down with a Diet Cola, you should avoid reading this article.

I have been saying since this fight promotion began that Manny Pacquiao was going to beat Oscar De La Hoya and I have closed most of my “Dream Fight” articles reminding everyone that Manny would defeat Oscar.  Conventional wisdom amongst the experts has been that Oscar is just too big and this fight is a joke.

Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao's "The Dream Match" 6 city tour ended today at the Whittier Arch, on the streets of East Los Angeles. Home of Oscar De La Hoya, the hundreds of fans showed their full support, even hanging off rooftops of the buildings surrounding the stage. While this was a pro-Oscar event, Pacquiao's fans, Filipino's as well as Mexican's, still made cheers heard.

De La Hoya: "It feels good to have this kind of support. That's when you know you're home and it makes me proud to have grown up in this very city. This is a huge fight and the turnout here proves just that. Manny Pacquiao is the best Pound4Pound fighter in the world today, and who better to go after than the best."

Pacquiao: "Some of you fans must be dreaming if you think Oscar can beat me. Oscar is a great fighter, but on December 6th, I will be the winner of this big fight."

Diaz Cast As “The Goat” In Jurassic Pacquiao
By Bret “The Threat” Newton

It was finally revealed what part “the goat” played in the Manny Pacquiao vs. David Diaz fight at the Mandalay Bay on Saturday night. Forget the “Cubs” and any “curse” reference you may have read or heard. It’s not as if we didn’t know just how this fight was going to pan out either. Anyone who actually bought into the hype that Diaz would offer anything more than a spectacular performance for Pacquiao to lay his fists into was sadly kidding their selves. The “Pac Man” Manny Pacquiao (47-3-3, 35 KO’s) practically gobbled up WBC lightweight champion David Diaz (34-2-1, 17 KO’s) this Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay of Las Vegas. Manny answered all the questions in his lightweight debut. He was too fast, too strong and too furious for the game but overmatched naturally bigger champion. Manny Pacquiao

It was at the start of round nine that I thought to myself, this is why fighters get permanently hurt in the ring...or worse. Manny Pacquiao beat the WBC Lightweight title right off of David Diaz and no jokes about a goat need be applied. Diaz gave this his all but it was nowhere near enough to defeat a 135 pound Manny who looked, bigger, faster and stronger than ever before. The fight was one sided from the very start with Diaz not winning a single second. Bleeding profusely from the side of his face on a cut that was looked at by the doctor twice during and between rounds, Diaz was dropped with a single shot in the 9th and the fight was immediately called off.

In Los Angeles Tuesday, WBC lightweight champion David Diaz said he is "only thinking of winning" when he takes on mega-star Manny Pacquiao on Top Rank's "Lethal Combination" championship card at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino on June 28.

"Every fighter, no matter who he is, should want to fight the very best - and that's what I'll be doing against Pacquiao," Diaz said. "I'm not going to lose. I don't even think of it. I will win and bring the green belt back to my hometown, Chicago."

Pound4Pound sensation Manny Pacquiao looks to become the first Asian to win 4 world titles in multiple divisions as he moves up to face WBC Lightweight Champion David Diaz on June 28th, at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. This fight will pit two exciting fighters who are both known for a big punch and never backing down.

Pacquiao: "This is going to be more entertaining than both the Marquez fights and the Morales fights because Diaz likes to fight toe-to-toe, which is what I like."

Diaz: "I know a lot of writers aren't giving me much a chance in this fight, so this is my time to prove everyone wrong, once again."

In another close and thrilling bout that was filled with both blood and drama, Manny Pacquiao was victorious in a close split decision over dethroned WBC Super Feather Champ Juan Manuel Marquez. The difference once again in this razor close fight was the third round knockdown, Manny put him down with one hard shot directly to the chin.

Marquez & Pacquiao Face To Face Again,
Both Ready For Another Stunner This Saturday

Photo: Bret "The Threat" Newton
Manny Pacquiao

WBC Super Featherweight Champion Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao are set to get it on again, this Saturday, at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. In what was considered the Fight Of The Year in 2004, their first fight was nothing shy of an amazing performance by both men. Pacquiao scoring three knockdowns in the very first round had you on the edge of your seat the minute it started, through the courageous comeback from Marquez and up until the scores read the fight was ruled a draw. And still, everyone has been on the edge of their seat, anticipating this rematch from the moment they left the ring and you can guarantee their second fight will have similar, if not better, fireworks as their first. Their final press conference was held in Los Angeles today, and both promised another great fight.

Marquez: "When they hold up my hand in victory in the ring on Saturday night remember that I am doing this for everyone in Mexico."

Pacquiao: "I know all of you here want Marquez, and I know he trained very hard for this fight, but so did I! May the best man win on Saturday night."

Manny Pacquiao looked top notch at today's open workout as he makes his final preparations for the highly anticipated rematch against Juan Manuel Marquez, next Saturday on HBO PPV. Pacquiao overall did over 24 rounds of work, and at the end of hitting the mitts with trainer Freddie Roach, who's birthday is today (happy b-day champ), Manny begged for, "One more. One more round. Writers, photographers and fans who were swarmed around the ring, laughed as Pacquiao showed a few basketball moves, as well as some playful kung-fu against one of his cornermen at the end of the workout.

  William's Mail Pouch:
Manny vs. Ricky

By William Trillo
As strange as it may seem to some, even I on occasion get feedback on my articles...will wonders never cease! Of course I don't have the incredible amount of fans as many of my peers, nor do I write fan mail to myself and pretend I have people who worship me, errrr,  allegedly, but I do at times get a letter or two from someone who stumbles across our "cookie cutter" little site. Obviously I don't need an entire Mailbag, so let me dig into my little pouch and see what's there.

This letter in regards to my recent article about Ricky Fatton vs. Money Pacquiao made me chuckle and I thought I would share it with you.

Right on. It's a total travesty. Hatton should fight Wittter, who he's been evading forever. Witter beats the crap out of Hatton. Manny is way too small although he is a hell of a lot better (& more exciting ) fighter. Hatton was lucky to fight a far past prime Kosta Tszyu. His whole rep is based on one big fight. Hatton is a fat beer sucking slob, period!

  Ricky Fatton vs. Money Pacquiao?
If It Makes Cents, Count On It

By William Trillo
Over the past few days we have been hearing that Jr. Welter Champ Ricky Hatton relishes a fight with Jr. Light Champ Manny Pacquiao, but not much has come out of team Pacquiao on the matter. Early Monday morning Pound4Pound spoke to upper brass at Top Rank as well as one of Pacquiao's top advisor's. Both parties confirmed that a Hatton match up is a very distinct possibility, in fact the team Pacquiao member went as far as to say that, "plans are already on the drawing board", yes, that's a direct quote.

This news comes on the tail of a London Times report stating that Hatton has been on an eating and drinking binge since his first loss last month and is already terribly out of shape.   "Will To Win" Recap
By William Trillo
Photos: Rob DeLorenzo - Golden Boy

Manny is Manny and until someone can prove to me otherwise I can't pick against him. In his 12 round unanimous decision over a retiring Marco Antonio Barrera, Pacquiao once again put all that distraction talk to rest and he still tops my list as best Pound4Pound fighter in the game. In his final stanza, Barrera made a good account of himself but once he realized Manny was not to be denied it appeared to me that Marco fought in a manner that assured he would remain on his feet, but in doing so it left little room for him to pull out an upset victory.

Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao preformed a heated open workout today at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, Ca. in preparation for his highly anticipated rematch against Marco Antonio Barrera. Pacquiao went through two sparring partners, hit the mitts with trainer Freddie Roach, while dozens of fans and reporters swarmed around the edges of the ring. Pacquiao showed some incredible hand speed, movement, and even had fun in there. "Come on! Come on, baby.", yelled Pacquiao throughout every round to his sparring partners, asking them to bring it to him. "Boom, boom, boom, pow, pow, pow.", he clowned as he landed some powerful shots on the mitts.

Pacquiao vs. Barrera II takes place on October 6th, and can be seen Live on HBO PPV.

The long over anticipated rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera already has everyone asking questions. Will Barrera, who in times like these, is counted out, but comes up with a big win? Is Pacquiao going to repeat or have an easier night than the first time these two met? What ever the case may be, this is a fight everyone has been waiting for and wants to see.

Barrera: "This time it's different because Pacquiao is the star and he's at the top and it's me who's coming up. That's the motivation that will make me victorious on Oct. 6."

Pacquiao: "This is a tough fight. Barrera is always tough and is always prepared. I will be one hundred percent for the rematch because that's what it's going to take to win."

Stay tuned for much more to come, including video of Pacquiao, Barrera, DeLaHoya, an Roach.

  Jacqui Snow's "K.O.'s"
Tuesday Report By "K.O." Jacqui Snow

The Vegas betting odds showed Manny Pacquiao to be a 10-1 favorite going into Saturday's bout. Once you factored in all the distractions working against him, though, the conditions were ripe for an upset and during the early part of the fight, the undefeated Jorge Solis seemed poised to make that happen. Pacquiao had his hands full from the opening bell and it actually took him several rounds to figure out his opponent. In no small part, this was due to the fact that Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, had been missing in action at training camp. Roach, who was named 2006 Trainer of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America, had ditched Pacquiao in favor of a more lucrative and high-profile gig--he was in Puerto Rico training Oscar De La Hoya for his upcoming bout with Floyd Mayweather. Instead, Justin Fortune, who'd worked closely with Pacquiao and Roach, was entrusted with the full-time job and Roach himself flew into Texas just hours before the bout in order to be in his fighter's corner. Not all of the outcomes went the way Bob Arum might have wanted, but make no mistake about it, the Top Rank promoted PPV card was exactly what the long time promoter promised.

The fights were all action packed and the pace of the show for both the PPV audience as well as those in attendance was fast paced and quick, hopefully this will be the new trend in boxing broadcasts, because what we have seen over the last decade or more just is not working anymore. San Antonio – Well, you can’t say that Bob Arum isn’t a gracious man. After making all that green with Manny Pacquiao on the Erik Morales trilogy, Arum served up a softball in the name of Jorge Solis Saturday night at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Rather than closing the night with a bang, it ended more like a whimper as Pacquiao KO’d the far inferior Sosa at 1:16 of the eighth round to retain the less than coveted WBC International Super Featherweight title. On balance, the night was entertaining for the 14,793 in attendance (the second largest crowd ever to see a fight in San Antonio) and the ones that spent $ 44.95 on the pay per view. The televised bouts went like this……..Click Here For Full Report

Pacquiao Calling in Political Favors

Although Manny Pacquiao said on Filipino TV two days ago he will definitely run for elected office in the May 14 mid-term elections, sources close to the boxer told Pound4Pound.com he cannot legally run for election without some behind-the-scenes help from his close friend, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, President of the Philippines.

Pacquiao has said in the past he wants to run for either Mayor of General Santos City, where he lives, or national senator. But our sources say Pacquiao finds himself in a legal bind needing some political favors:

'Manila Ice' = "Top Secret!" - Pacquiao Photo Gallery

Photos: Bret "The Threat" Newton
Manny Pacquiao held an open workout today at the Wild Card GYM in Los Angeles where he sparred for 8 rounds and showed some new footwork and defense applied to the already 'in your face' action style. Of course, what was on mind was all this 'Manila Ice' hype, and just what exactly is this new technique trainer Freddie Roach has worked on with Pacquiao in preparation for his fight with Erik Morales: "It's top secret!", said Pacquiao. "You will find out on March 19th."

Hmm, no cracks just yet then, however, Pacquiao did share this: "I feel this is the same type of fight I had with Barrera. I feel that they are on the same level so I have prepared the same. This is just as big of a fight as the Barrera one for me. This is going to be a very good fight."
