  Gonzalez Smashes Another Foe

"Next Puerto Rican Superstar" Lights Up LeBlanc

On Friday night, October 29, Puerto Rican bomber Jonathan "Mantequilla" Gonzalez (10-0, 10 KOs) kept his undefeated record and knockout streak intact with a first-round stoppage of Jimmy "The Dream" LeBlanc.

Fighting in the co-main event of Universal Promotions' "Night of Champions" event at the Centro de Convenciones in Guayama, Puerto Rico, Gonzalez put his breathtaking power on display while it lasted against Weymouth, Massachusetts native Leblanc.

Known as the "Next Puerto Rican Superstar", 21-year-old Gonzalez is co-promoted by Universal and Warriors Boxing and Gary Shaw Promotions. "Every time he does that, the drum beats get a little louder for this kid," said an excited Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing, post-fight. "He's the real deal; a bonafide superstar in the making and performances like tonight's only solidify that reputation."

Gonzalez will return to the ring on December 3 for a fight in his hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico against former world title challenger and fellow Puerto Rican Irving Garcia.
