Perennial contender Librado Andrade (30-4, 23 KO's) has not
only fought the best in the super middleweight division over
the years, but he's done it with a fan-friendly style that
has garnered him a huge following. The owner of wins over
Yusaf Mack, Robert Stieglitz, Eric Lucas and Otis Grant, the
33-year-old native of Jesus del Monte, Guanajuato, Mexico
has also met up with Lucian Bute (twice) and Mikkel Kessler.
He's determined that now is his time to finally put a world
title belt around his waist and will get the opportunity to
do so should he vanquish George on the 17th.
A crushing puncher with an 86% knockout percentage, Don "Da
Bomb" George (22-1-1, 19 KO's) has patiently waited to get
in position for a title shot while being anything but
patient in dispatching opponents. The 27-year-old USBA super
middleweight champion is ready for prime time and knows that
a win over Librado Andrade will put him in position to
challenge for the IBF title.
Chetmul, Mexico's Sergio Thompson (19-2, 17 KO's) is a
knockout artist who can change the course of a fight with
one swing of his fist. A six year professional, Thompson is
a former WBC Mundo Hispano champion who is currently
sporting a six-fight winning streak, with five of those wins
coming by knockout, including a November 5 victory over Juan
Carlos Espinoza that took less than a round. Looking to stop
Thompson's winning streak will be 25-year-old Panamanian
Julio "Dinamita" Camano (8-6-1, 3 KO's), a rugged competitor
who has faced a host of top prospects, including Jose Emilio
Perea, Antonio Fernandez, Nicholas Walters and Irvin Berry.
Fireworks are sure to fly when these two hard-nosed
competitors meet in the ring this Saturday.
