War",
Vazquez vs. Marquez On Aug. 4
Unbeaten McJoe Arroyo will battle in a title bout for the
first time in his career when he joins “The War”, where
former world champions Wilfredo Vázquez Jr. and Rafael
Marquez will face on August 4, at the Coliseo Ruben
Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, in a PR Best Boxing
Promotions (PRBBP) presentation, in association with All
Star Boxing, Top Rank and Promociones Zanfer, to be
televised on Pay Per View.
“We will have McJoe Arroyo in his first 10 round bout and
fighting for the first time for a title in this great show
next August 4, along with former champions Vazquez Jr.,
Marquez and Roman “Rocky” Martinez, and contender Miguel
Beltran Jr., in a “war” between Puerto Rico and Mexico”,
promoter Ivan Rivera, PRBBP president, said.
Arroyo (10-0, 5 KOs), whose twin brother McWilliams is the
flyweight WBO Latino champion, will fight against Mexican
Miguel Tamayo (12-3-2, 11 KOs) for the super flyweight World
Boxing Organization (WBO) NABO title. This fight, scheduled
to 10 rounds, will be the second one in 2012 for Arroyo, a

Shawn Nichol by unanimous decision last March 10.
“The War” will present Vazquez Jr. (21-2-1, 18 KOs), former
WBO super bantamweight champion, versus Marquez (41-7, 37
KOs), former IBF bantamweight and WBC super bantamweight
