Zewski Hopes To Secure World
Championship Bout In Future

MONTRÉAL - The promoter Yvon Michel, from the GYM Group in
Montréal, will present a pro boxing show Saturday evening at
the Jarry Park in Montréal. A fighter from Trois-Rivières,
Québec, the super welterweight (154 pounds) Mikael Zewski
(34-2-0) will fight the Mexican Dilan “El tremenda” Loza
(15-4-1) in the semi-final of this boxing show.
“I am perfectly prepared mentally and physically for this
event, and I am very optimistic,” said Zewski at the weigh
in Friday afternoon. “It's an eight rounds bout, and I am
very confident to win it by KO or TKO. It’s very important
for me to win this fight because I hope to dispute a world
championship bout in the next two years. In the next months,
my goal is to reach the Top 10 of the international
Yvon Michel said: “If Zewski wins this bout, like we are
expecting it, he will dispute a very significant bout next
fall. This fight in fall could help him to reach the Top 10
of the international ratings.”
The main event of this boxing show will be a female fight.
The light flyweight (108 pounds) the Montrealer Kim Clavel
(13-0-0), who is NABF champion and WBC first contender, will
face the Mexican Maria Vargas (15-3-1) in a WBC female
In another female bout, the Montrealer welterweight (147
pounds) Marie-Pier Houle (3-0-1) will be opposed to the
Mexican Jeannette Zacarias Zapata (2-3-0).
The other preliminaries bouts will involved the heavyweight
Alexis Barrière, from Québec City, the Montrealer super
lightweight (140- pounds) Mazlum Akdeniz and the super
lightweight (140 pounds) Samuel Lajoie-Dery, from
Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec, who will make his pro debut.
Barrière (11-4-0) will face the Mexican Angel Gabriel Barron
(1-1-0), Akedenis will fight the Mexican Jovani Marttinez
(7-11-1) and Lajoie-Dery will meet Patrick Lafleur (1-3-1),
from Edmonton, Alberta.
At the weigh in supervised by the Quebec Athletic
Commission,, Zewski posted an official weight of 158-8
pounds, Loza 153.4 pounds, Clavel 107.8 pounds, Vargas 107.4
pounds, Houle 146.6 pounds, Zapata 143.4 pounds, Barrière
230.8 pounds, Barron 225.8 pounds, Akdeniz 139 pounds,
Martinez 135.8 pounds, Lajoie-Dery 145.8 pounds, and
finally, Lafleur 147 pounds.
