On June 23 EOTTM Will Celebrate
The National Holiday With A Bang
To launch Québec’s Fête Nationale with a bang, Eye of the
Tiger will feature its next event on Thursday, June 23, with
an exciting evening of boxing filled with fireworks at the
Cabaret du Casino de Montréal. Erik Bazinyan (27-0, 21 KOs),
Artem Oganesyan (13-0, 11 KOs), and Yves Ulysse Jr. (20-2,
11 KOs) will fill the ring with dynamite performances, while
Steven Butler (29-3-1, 25 KOs) will confront the
middleweight USNBC champion of the WBC, Brandon Brewer
(25-1-2, 11 KOs). To enhance this fight, the winner of this
duel will have the chance to win the NABF middleweight title
which will then be on the line. This event will be simulcast
on Punching Grace as of 7:00 pm.
EOTTM did not choose an adversary of Brandon Brewer’s
calibre at random. The New Brunswick native boxes with an
offensive yet intricate style while remaining powerful and
unyielding; until now, he remains unstoppable. He will force
Butler to remain disciplined and strategic for the entire
fight, according to Butler’s team. “Brewer can not only roll
with the punches, he is also a pro-active boxer who will
certainly provide us with challenging rounds. Our goal is to
make sure that Steven can maintain the power and intensity
in the final rounds that he displays at the beginning of the
fight. We’re facing a highly qualified opponent but I have
no doubt that Steven will be up to the task,” asserts
Butler’s trainer, Rénald Boisvert.
Steven “Bang Bang” Butler, fresh from his 29th career win on
March 3, where he delivered a third-round KO to Hector
Manuel Zepeda, is very much aware of the danger that Brewer
represents at this pivotal point in his career, but he fully
intends to live up to his nickname and end the feud between
them in a spectacular manner…with a bang! “I’m more
determined then ever to continue my rise to the top. Nothing
personal, but I intend to put Brewer in a world of pain.
He’s in my way right now, and I intend to continue to move
forward,” adds Butler.
Butler and Brewer agree on one thing; they do not plan to
prolong hostilities until the decision on June 23: “I've
been looking for an opportunity my entire career to fight in
front of the Quebec fans. Montreal is the Mecca of Boxing in
Canada and I'm really excited to put on a show with Steven
Butler June 23rd. This is a life changing opportunity for
me. So, I will ensure that the judges do not have anything
to do with the outcome of this fight. Someone is getting
knocked out. It's that simple. I will not let it go to the
judges, whether it's him or me on the canvas. The fans are
really going to get their moneys worth the moment I get into
that ring. We will steal the show on June 23rd. See you soon
Steven. ” said Brandon Brewer.
Currently ranked 5th in the WBA world classification, the
NABF super middleweight titleholder Erik “BZO” Bazinyan will
defend his title for a second time. Artem “Razor” Oganesyan
will jump back into the ring following a bitter victory
against Stephen Danyo, whom he stopped prematurely, allowing
Oganesyan to claim the super-middleweight NABF belt for the
first time. Yves Ulysse Jr. bursts back on the Montreal
scene; his last fight was held in Shawinigan where he
stopped David Théroux in the 5th round while defending his
super lightweight NABF belt. He is looking forward to
proving his mettle and is thrilled to have the opportunity
to fight before his fans.
