Jonathan Alexis Ramirez Beats
Adrian Pacheco By Majority Decision
Last night, in an exciting fight from start to finish,
Jonathan Alexis "La Flaka" Ramírez beat Adrián "El Gallero"
Pacheco by majority decision, 96-94, 95-95, and 96-94 on
EstrellaTV's Boxeo EstrellaTV. The series occurs the last
Friday of every month and is broadcast from Auditorio BB in
Mexico City. Ramírez won the title eliminator match, and
will now face Jerson Aguilar for the WBA Fedecentro title in
the next fight.
Ramírez had a hard time deciphering Pacheco's style and
strategy, who dominated the ring for a large part of the
fight. From mid-distance, Pacheo did a lot of damage to his
rival, who, by crouching down, was up to receive blows from
his right hand, which hit Ramírez's face multiple times.
As the rounds went by, Ramírez adjusted his game to not get
into the exchange of blows and throw his best shots from
long distance. He managed to hit Pacheco, who responded and
landed straight blows in Ramírez's face, who at times
lowered his hands and was exposed.
The exchanges of blows in the short field favored Pacheco
due to his small stature, which made it easier for him to
land hooks and uppercuts, while Ramírez switched to more
counter-punching boxing and waited for Pacheco's mistake to
grab him midway, with the low guard and hit shots that
helped him score points.
At the end of the battle, the balance was tilted in favor of
Ramírez, largely due to a right-hand hook that sent Pacheco
to the canvas in the third round and marked the narrow
victory for Ramírez (a student of the former world champion
Jose Luis Bueno).
In the co-headline match, Daniel "Manitas de Piedra" Haro
from the United States was surpassed by Moisés "Bam Bam"
Zenteno from Puebla via technical knockout at 1:27 of the
fifth round in a 6-round match in super featherweight.
Axl Raí Miranda from the state of Mexico defeated Ramón de
Jesús "El Gallo" Beltrán from Veracruz in a strikeout duel
at 2:43 of the first round in a 4-round lightweight fight.
Carlos Antonio "Gallito" González from the State of Mexico
was unable to beat Eric "Erikito" Pabón from Puerto Rico,
who took the win by unanimous decision, 37-39, 37-39 and
37-38, in a 4-round super bantamweight fight.
Andree “Junior” Ocaña of Mexico City defeated Luis “Tito”
González of Puerto Rico by split decision, 38-37, 37-38 and
38-37, in a 4-round light flyweight bout.

Yedriel Reyes from Puerto Rico, who won by unanimous
decision 36-38 35-39 and 36-39, in a 4-round light flyweight
fight.
Isaac "El Chato" Cárdenas from Puebla loses to José
Guadalupe "Hulk" Santos from the State of Mexico by majority
decision 37-39, 36-40, and 38-38, over 4-rounds at
bantamweight.
