  Lyndon Arthur Wins World Title
On Unforgettable Night In Bolton

Wasserman Boxing crowned two new champions on a night that ranks as one of the most sensational seen in Britain this year.

Lyndon Arthur dragged himself up off the canvas to stop Braian Suarez in the 10th round with a vicious body shot to become the new IBO world light heavyweight champion.

And following Arthur's comeback victory, Samuel Antwi claimed the vacant British super welterweight title by brutally halting Mason Cartwright in a thrilling Fight of the Year battle.

Shown live and free-to-air on Channel 5 in the UK and Ireland, and live on DAZN globally, the Wasserman Boxing show delivered drama, excitement and two of the best title contests witnessed in a British ring in 2023.

Brought to fight fans in association with Ladbrokes, Numan and Infinitum Entertainment, this night will live long in the memory after the 'King' and 'True Sensation' emerged victorious in two classic affairs.

Lyndon Arthur, who was dropped in the fourth round, said: "I weathered the storm, kept using the jab and caught him with a good body shot and he went down.

"I've got a good chin, I can take a shot and don't mind going to war.

"Suarez was one tough opponent, he had 17 knockouts from 18 fights, but I weathered the storm and stopped him with that body shot."

Kalle Sauerland, Head of Global Boxing at Wasserman Boxing, said: "What a fantastic story and moments like this are what free-to-air boxing is all about.

"He showed heroics by getting off the canvas, against a fantastic, heavy-handed boxer, weathering the storm and then putting it on him in great fashion.

"Britain has a new world champion, we're thrilled for Manchester and we'll come back with another huge show with him very soon. I am so privileged to be part of this journey."

The new British champion, Samuel Antwi said: "This has been 10 years in the making, there have been ups and downs but it was worth it.

"I was told I needed to win the last two rounds so I started putting more on the shots, I pushed it and it was a spectacular knockout.

"What an amazing feeling to win this title. Now let's see how far we can go."
