Robles Wins Vacant IBO World Title
After 12 Thrilling Rounds With McGregor

Erik Robles became the new IBO world super bantamweight champion after defeating Lee McGregor in a Fight of the Year contender.

Mexico's Robles won 116-113, 115-113 and 115-113 on the judges' scorecards at the Meadowbank Sports Centre, in Edinburgh on an emotionally-charged night at the Wasserman Boxing show, in association with Ladbrokes, Numan and Infinitum Entertainment.

The world title showdown, in front of McGregor's passionate home fans, ebbed and flowed with both men refusing to take a backwards step, in a contest that will rank as one of the best seen in a British ring this year.

And it was Robles who got the nod after a pulsating 36 minutes of action, to leave McGregor heartbroken.
