Andy Lee Ready for Spotlight |
|
By Jeff "Big Bazooka" Linenfelser
Former Olympian and Middleweight Contender Andy Lee is ready and
calling out anyone with a belt. " Andy is way ahead of his Pro
fight record because of his extensive Amateur an Olympic
background," says Hall of Fame Trainer Emanuel Stewart, "This
kid has been in camp with Taylor, Cintron and numerous other Top
Fighters for the last 2 years, there is no one at 160 that can
beat Andy right now, if John Duddy (Middleweight Contender from
Ireland) isn't ready to step up to the Championship plate, then
Andy definitely is or we can fight him (Duddy) tomorrow for that
matter", said Stewart.
In other notes, "Bazooka Joe" Linenfelser (now 6-0-1 5Ko's) won
a very one sided decision over Veteran fighter Billy Mitchem,
Saturday night in Ocala Florida. Mitchem has gone 3 rounds with

"Battle of the Rising Stars" - Pendarvis vs. Vazquez |
|
All Star Boxing would like to thank all who came
out to support our first ever amateur boxing show
last November. It was a great time for those there and the
action was exciting, however, we have decided to come back one
more time this year and do what we do best, and that is to
promote a PROFESSIONAL boxing show and leave 2007 with a
resounding bang. Local lightweight prospects Cleotis "Mookie"
Pendarvis (8-1-1) and John Molina (8-0) are only a couple of
exciting up and coming boxers scheduled to fight on Friday,
December 28th at the Quiet Cannon in Montebello.

The 800,000 Pound Gorilla Shows His True Colors
So Now Is The Time To Unmask Him
And Let You See Him For What He Really Is! |
|
By William Trillo

Folly: Bret "The Threat" Newton
This past Saturday evening at The Grand
Garden Arena at The MGM Grand in Las Vegas all the media
fortunate enough to get a credential for the Floyd
Mayweather vs. Ricky Hatton bout was hard at work and
getting ready to cover the highly anticipated show to
the best of their ability. Well almost all the media,
because while every other journalist was grabbing their
spot in the arena, The Gorilla, better known as Fightnews.com
was busy pitching a serious fit with the promoters
publicists because they were not given a ringside photo
spot and unless something was done,
well... they proceeded to do some pretty slipshod
coverage of the fight, posting barely a picture or two
with a smattering of less than stellar blow by blow
coverage.

Botha pulls out of fight against Solis
Olympic Champion to face Julius Long instead |
|
Surprisingly Francois Botha pulled out of the
fight against arena’s “heavyweight sensation” Odlanier Solis on
December 23rd in Halle. The “White Buffalo” doesn’t paw the
ground but draws in his horns instead. Arena-CEO Ahmet Öner: “I
believe Botha didn’t know who Solis was when he took the fight.
Then he read some articles, watched some tapes and was warned by
friends and pulled out. It’s sad because it would have been a
good test for Solis. Botha is a very experienced fighter who
fought for the World Championship four times. It’s hard to find
an adequate replacement for such a name – especially at a
short-term pull out like this. It’s always hard to find
opponents for Solis because everybody is afraid of his power and
accuracy; no boxer in the world wants to be knocked out!”

A Closing Symphony |

By Dennis Bernstein, MBA -
Chairman/CEO SCORE! Media Ventures
Foto Folly: Bret "The Threat" Newton
Los Angeles – So all you Floyd Mayweather
detractors can put the haterade down. The moment you
pushed it far away from your place at the dinner table
was about the same time that all the chanting stopped
inside the MGM Grand (and various other parts of Las
Vegas) from the throngs of Brits that followed Ricky
Hatton to his ultimate destiny around 9:30 Saturday
evening. The match followed the blueprint the Pretty Boy
laid out; six rounds to measure, two rounds to soften
him up and two more to put him away. Hatton, who
admitted he underestimated (whoops) Mayweather speed and
more interestingly, his size, wasn’t a complicated
puzzle to figure out for the best pound for pound
fighter in the business.

Tszyu: "Mayweather Is The Best, Pound4Pound" |
|
Dear Tszyu Crew,
The Floyd Mayweather-Ricky Hatton fight in Las Vegas on the
weekend was a very high quality match and I really enjoyed
watching it. My congratulations to both men.
I think there is no doubt that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the best
boxer in the world pound-4-pound. He has backed up his words
against the best and that is very important.

Carlos J. Velasquez Displays Explosive Body Attack |
|
Last night on the Worlds Collide card at the New
Crazy Horse Saloon in Miami Fl, Carlos Juan Velasquez extended
his knockout streak, improving to (5-0 5KO's). Velasquez
marveled fans with an explosive body attack that had everyone in
awe. In the first round, Carlos Juan dropped Steven Mincks with
a devastating left hook to the liver, showcasing his evident
power. Surviving to the second round, a tough Mincks was sent to
the canvas two more times, after Velasquez continued to pound
the body with violent intent. Carlos Juan scored the KO after
Mincks was unable to get to his feet.
Twin brother Juan Carlos was unable to fight due to his
opponent's inability to clear his blood work with the
commission. Both fighters will continue to stay active as
manager Shelly Finkel went on to say, "2008 will be a busy year
for these kids. As long as they're healthy, they'll be fighting
every month."
