1956, New York:
Carlos Ortiz won a 10 round decision over Gale Kerwin in a non-title bout.
1952, Coral Gables, Florida:
Danny Nardico TKO’d Jake LaMotta in the 8th round. Lamotta’s corner stopped this fight after LaMotta was down in the 7th. This fight was of course near the end of Hall of Famer LaMotta’s career.
1941, Vichy, France:
Marcel Cerdan KO’d Robert Seidel in the 3rd round of a non-title bout.

MONTRÉAL - The Montrealer Jean Pascal, 35 years old, made a successful defense of his WBA Silver light heavyweight (175 pounds) championship of the world, Saturday evening in Atlanta, beating the Swedish African Badou Jack by Split Decision. Two judges scored the bout 114-112 and 114-111 for Pascal, and the other judge got a score of 114-112 for Badou Jack. The bout was intense and close.

“I am ready for a war,” said Pascal. “I know that Badou Jack is a good fighter, he has good technique, but I am ready for this challenge. I really believe I have the weapons to beat him.”

The Japanese champion Ryota Murata (16-2-0) made a successful defense of his WBA middleweight (160 pounds) championship of the world, in beating Butler (28-2-1) by KO in the fifth round at the Yokohama Arena.

Ontario, CA. - Premier Boxing Champions brought their show on the road to The Toyota Arena in Ontario, California for the intriguing return bout between Champion, Tony Harrison and the former titlist, Jermell Charlo.
