Klitschko's & Universum: 2
Sides To Every Story
By William Trillo
For the past couple of days the matter between the
Klitschko's and Universum have been reported, but reports
seemed to contradict each other. In an effort to understand
the matter at hand, and since we have already seen the
German press releases, Pound4Pound decided to speak to a
person close to the Klitschko team and hear their side of
the story!
It's short, sweet, and straight to the point, and we think
it makes the matter a lot easier to understand.
We've been reading some press releases coming out of
Universum in regard to the Klitschko matter and we just
wanted to get the other side of the story.
You know, it's a little bit half and half. The whole crux of
the issue was that they wanted to get the contracts
extended, so the court did rule that the contracts should be
extended, but there's no damages because the extensions that
the court would have given were less than when the brothers
fought so there's actually no significance of the ruling.
So are they still under Universum's thumb, so to speak, as
far as the fights go or are they completely out?
The court ruled that it's over, the only thing that
Universum is going to do at this point is appeal it to a
higher court, but nobody expects that the higher court is
going to rule anything different from the lower court, but
the ruling from the regional court right now is that the
contracts are over and there is no money owed to Universum.
