Tampa, Fl – The WBO Welterweight Champion of the world Miguel Cotto behind closed doors takes his business to another level. The training has been extremely intensive while trainer Jose Santiago works hard with Cotto as he prepares to square off with Joshua Clottey for the Welterweight Championship Saturday, June 13, at Madison Square Garden. The fight will be broadcast live on HBO World Championship Boxing, beginning at 10:35 p.m. ET/ 7:35 P.M PT
This marks the fourth time in the past five years Cotto will fight in the Garden on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade.
Cotto taking full advantage of this opportunity to train in Florida at the Fight Factory facilities here in Tampa, Fl. The facilities co-owner Pete Fernandez welcomed the champ with open arms.
Fernandez: “There is no doubt in my mind that Cotto is very happy here he works extremely hard and it is a pleasure working with him”.
It has been very relaxing for team Cotto just to focus directly on the work at hand. Cotto continues to spar hard and look sharp.
Cotto has not cracked a smile yet, however it is clear that you can see the relaxation and clear determination in Cotto’s face in camp. We will have more updates on Cotto camp shortly.
