Double Titles For Burgos At Double Tree
Double Knockdowns In Round 2 Do The Trick

Deuces were wild at The Thompson Boxing Promoted card as Juan Carlos Burgos (21-0,14 KO's) needed just two rounds to dispose of Omar Lizarraga (16-7-1,13 KO's) to take the vacant IBA & WBC CABOFE Featherweight titles.

From the outset it was apparent both men came out to throw bombs as both men traded crisp leather in round one. Burgos stepped up the action in round 2 and a series of left hooks put Lizarraga down twice. Burgos jumped on his groggy foe and the ref saw enough and brought the carnage to an end at the 2:19 mark.

In a hard fought semi-main event Jr. Welters Mauricio Herrera (9-0, 4 KO's) and Brian Gordon (4-3, 4 KO's) gave the crowd a great show for seven rounds. It was nip and tuck for the first 6 rounds but Herrera made his charge in round 7 and put some serious hurt on Gordon who remained on his stool and did not answer the bell for round 8.

The nights remainder of the card went as follows:

Jr. Welter Patrick Lopez (14-1,10 KO's) decisioned Jalier Berrio (11-4,11 KO's) over 8

Featherweight Abe Lopez (6-0,5 KO's) KO'd Manuel Sarabia (16-29-9, 10 KO's) in 2

Super Bantam Walter Sanoi (3-0,2 KO's) split decisoned Alvaro Muro (5-13, 5 KO's) over 4
