Tuesday evening in Maywood, California the Universal Boxing Hall of Fame honored former WBC Lightweight Champion. With the big Mexican Independence Day fights taking place in Los Angeles this weekend it was a great time to remember Carmona's career. It was Carmona who KO'd Mando Ramos to grab the title in the very first Mexican Independence Day fight back in 1972.

On hand to celebrate the Mexican Independence Day holiday were Rodolfo "El Gato" González, newly crowned Champion Light Flyweight Champ Giovanni Segura and Top Ranked Super Middleweight Librado Andrade.
