Fighting on the same weekend as one of the biggest fights of the year in Las Vegas, (Pacquiao vs. Marquez), may make a fighter from Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada feel like he got lost in the shuffle, but after his powerful 5th round TKO over Gundrick King(16-7, 4 KO's) the young welterweight Mikael Zewski (12-0,8 KO's) certainly gained some new fans with his electrifying performance. Fighting on Friday night at The Mandalay Bay the Canadian chalked up another victory in Sin City.

Top Rank's publicist Lee Samuels was very impressed with Bob Arum's new acquisition. "This kid looked fantastic tonight, under the guidance of our matchmaker Bruce Trampler I expect him to go far," said Samuels.

After the fight Zewski told Pound4Pound, "I really appreciate being a part of the Top Rank team now and I had a lot of fun fighting for them tonight. Top Rank is a great organization. They promised to keep me busy and this was a great way to get our relationship going"

In regard to his second winning performance in Las Vegas Zewski said, " I could see this guy was trying to land the big punch so I had to be careful early. I just stayed to some basic boxing until I saw where the openings where going to come up and that's when I went to work."

And go to work he did. After putting some hurt on King in round 4 the fighter from Quebec went to work in round five and after dropping the fighter once early Zewski turned up the heat and the fight was stopped at 2:43 of round five. "I knew I had him hurt pretty bad and the ref did the right thing by stopping the fight, it was the right call to make," said Zewski.

It was also the right call for Top Rank to snatch up the free agent fighter who had been with two other American promoters before he found a home on Top Ranks ledger. Having watched Zewski from ringside a few times now I have become very impressed with the maturity and skill the young man shows in the ring, he is definitively a prospect to keep your eye on.
