Poulard Wants Shumenov, Not
Froch

MONTRÉAL - The Montrealer Nicholson Poulard as finally made
a decision. The NABA light heavyweight champion, the brother
of the former WBC champion of the world Jean Pascal has
rejected an offer to fight the new WBC super middleweight
champion of the world, the British Carl Froch (29-2-0),
November 17th in Nottingham.
Poulard did not like the idea to reduce his weight at 168
pounds. Poulard was fighting in the super middleweight
division in 2010, but his last four bouts were in the light
heavyweight category. Poulard asked to promoter, Camille
Estefan, to maintain the discussions with the WBA champion
of the world, Beibut Shumenov.
Poulard (19-3-0) hopes to fight Shumenov (13-0-1) in
Kazakhstan in November or December.
"I really believe in my chances to fight Shumenov this year,
because he has mentioned my name a couple weeks ago in Las
Vegas, said Poulard. I am crossing my fingers in hoping that
Camille will finalize a deal soon with the Shumenov’s
group." Shumenov, a fighter from Kazakhstan, is training in
Las Vegas.
