Berterbiev Signs Contract With
The GYM Group

MONTRÉAL - The promoter of the GYM Group, Yvon Michel,
confirmed Friday an important addition for his team. GYM has
signed the light heavyweight Russian Artur Berterbiev, a
gold medalist of the last boxing amateur world championship.
Berterbiev will meet the Montréal press Tuesday at the
Houston Restaurant in Montréal downtown.
“Berterbiev has certainly the potential to become a world
champion in pro boxing, said his new trainer, Marc Ramsay. I
seriously think he will be the Mike Tyson of the light
heavyweight division. He is a real animal in action. He is
mean and he punches very hard.”
Berterbiev seems very happy to move in Montréal. “I grew up
in Chechnya in poverty and civil war,” said Berterbiev. “I
have been witness of terrorist attacks. I am sure I will
appreciate a lot to live in a peaceful city like Montréal.”
