Cloutiuer’s Canada Corner
Bizier Out For June 8th
By Daniel Cloutier
MONTRÉAL - Kevin Bizier, the NABA and IBF Inter-Continental
welterweight champion, will be unable to fight June 8th at
Bell Centre. Ranked third contender in the world by the IBF,
Bizier (20-0-0), a solid fighter from Québec City, was
supposed to be in action before the WBC light heavyweight
championship of the world opposing the Montrealer Adonis
Stevenson (20-1-0) and the American Chad Dawson (31-2-0),
but he has been obliged to stop his training two days ago.
Bizier is suffering from an ankle sprain. He hopes to be
back in action this fall, and there are a strong possibility
that at his next fight, he will be involved in an
elimination bout for the IBF title.
At his last bout, February 8th at Bell Centre, Bizier
stopped (at the end of the 8th round) the veteran Nate
Campbell (36-10-1), a former WBO and IBF lightweight
champion of the world.
