Bute-Pascal:
No Problem With The 30 Day Weigh-In

MONTRÉAL ----- As required by the WBC championship
committee, the Montrealers Lucian Bute and Jean Pascal put
their feet on the scale for the 30 days weight in. Bute
(31-1-0) and Pascal (28-2-1), who will fight in a NABF North
American light heavyweight championship January 18th at Bell
Centre in Montréal, a bout televises by HBO, were obliged to
post a weight under 193 pounds for this 30 days delay weight
in. Bute got a weight of 184.45 pounds, versus 191.2 for
Pascal.
Bute, a former IBF super middleweight champion of the world,
and Pascal, a former WBC light heavyweight champion of the
world, will be involved in the most prestigious local fight
in the history of the Canadian pro boxing. More than 17,000
seats has been reserved for this event, then, the show
should be presented in a full house (23,000).For sure, it
will be an attendance record for a boxing show at Bell
Centre (18,300 for the fight Gatti-Hutchison in 2000).
The winner of this bout will probably be considered as first
or second contender for the WBC light heavyweight
championship of the world, a belt owned by another
Montrealer, the southpaw Adonis Stevenson (23-1-0).However,
the promoter of the GYM Group, Yvon Michel, confirmed few
days ago that a fight Bute-Stevenson or Pascal-Stevenson
won't happens before 2015.
