Dawson Wants To
Take The Winner Of Pascal-Bute

LAS VEGAS ---- When the Montrealer Jean Pascal was training at
the 50 Centsboxing gym in Las Vegas Thursday afternoon, a
former opponent of Pascal, Chad Dawson, showed up. All the
journalists presents at that moment, went to see him. Dawson
will defend his WBC light heavyweight championship of the
world at Bell Centre in Montréal June 8th.
A southpaw, Dawson (31-2-0) will face another southpaw, the
Montrealer Adonis Stevenson (20-1-0). “When I a got an
argument with Stevenson in Montréal a couple weeks ago at
the press conference, I was telling the truth in saying I
did NOT know him,: said Dawson. “But I saw him in action in
watching videos. No doubt in my mind he his a dangerous
puncher, but he has not my technique and experience in
majors fights. He said he will knock me out, but several
solid punchers said the same thing in the
past, and they failed. Against Andre Ward last September in
Oakland, I did not look good (three knockdowns), but I was
fighting at 168 pounds, and I am natural and strong at 175
pounds. I will fight at my natural weight June 8th, then,
you will see the real Chad Dawson in action. I have no doubt
I will be the winner.”
Dawson said he wants to fight after the winner of this bout
between Pascal and Lucian Bute. “I know that Pascal and Bute
will fight in Montréal May 25th, and I will certainly
challenge the winner,” said Dawson. “I want to get a rematch
with Pascal (Dawson lost by technical decision in the 11th
round in 2010 in Montréal), but obviously, if Bute wins, he
will become my target.”
