Gamboa-Perez In Montréal

MONTRÉAL -The most important preliminary bout of the June
8th boxing show at Bell Centre in Montréal, will involved
two of the most talented fighters in the international
level. The Cuban Yuriokis Gamboa (22-0-0), the WBA super
featherweight interim champion of the world, will face the
Colombian Darley Perez (28-0-0), who is ranked second
contender by the WBA in the lightweight division. Perez is
also ranked third by the IBF and seventh by the WBO in the
135 pounds category.
Gamboa, who is used to fight at 130 pounds, will move up in
the lightweight division to face Perez.
The main event will oppose the WBC light heavyweight
champion of the world, the American Chad Dawson (31-2-0),
who will defend his crown against his fourth contender, the
Montrealer Adonis Stevenson (20-1-0).This boxing show
televise by HBO will be part of the activities surrounding
the Canadian Formula One Grand Prix.
