NABF Championship Fight For
Ghislain Maduma

MONTRÉAL - The Montrealer Ghislain Maduma, the WBC
lightweight Americas Continental champion, will try to gain
the most important belt of his career September 6th at the
Lac Leamy Casino in Gatineau, beside Ottawa. Maduma (14-0-0)
will face the Mexican Fermin De Los Santos (24-13-2) in am
NABF championship.
“Ghislain is actually ranked 11th contender by the IBF and
14th by the WBC, and no doubt in my mind he is one the best
lightweight in the world,” said Maduma's promoter and
manager, Camille Estephan. “Ghislain wants absolutely to
reach soon the Top five in the international rankings, and
we know he will do everything possible to do it. De Los
Santos has not the most impressive record, but he is
dangerous. He won his last 15 bouts and he is a very solid
and mean fighter.”
The light heavyweight Andy Gardiner (8-0-0), from Ottawa,
will be involved in the most important preliminary bout of
the evening. Estephan has also confirmed the participation
of the featherweight Baha Laham (12-0-1), the super
middleweight Schiller Hyppolite (7-1-0), the super
welterweight Mian Hussain (6-0-0), the lightweights Ibraham
Kamal (8-0-0), Chris Plaitis (4-0-0) and Michael Gadbois
(9-0-1), the cruserweight Samer Bakarat (0-0-0) and the
heavyweight Zack Bunce (1-0-0). Lamam, Hyppolite, Hussain
and Plaitis are Montrealers, Kamal lives in Toronto, Gadbois
is from Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec, Bakarat who will make his
pro debut lives in Ottawa, and Bunce is from Las Vegas.
