  Cloutier’s Canada Corner
Pascal-Dawson Postponed To May

By Daniel Cloutier

MONTRÉAL - The WBC light heavyweight championship fight of the world opposing the Montrealer Jean Pascal and the American southpaw Chad Dawson, originally scheduled for March 23rd, will be postponed until the end of May.

The promoter of the GYM Group, Yvon Michel, wants to present the fight at the Bell Centre in Montréal, but with activities of the NHL hockey League back in action, the Bell Centre will more available at the end of May then in March or April. With the lock out, the NHL will present a short schedule of 48 games, starting January 19th to finish at the end of April.

In May, it will the time for the playoffs. It would be easier for the Montréal Canadiens to move a hockey date in the playoffs than in the regular season. And its possible that the season of the Canadiens will be over in May… a better situation to sell a boxing show in Montréal. Click Here For Full Report
